About
The department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DSAI) is home to some of the best academics in the fields of big data systems and management (including retrieval, analysis, and visualization), Multimodal AI (including vision, graphics, language, and speech) and DSAI algorithms (including reinforcement learning, self-supervised and few-shot learning). Among the many fields in which our faculty has applied their research are smart cities, health, education, and geospatial applications. The faculty work on both applied and theoretical problems and have forged several industrial collaborations and are working on projects from government agencies.
Our research scholars – MS and PhD students – are sought after in industry and by academic institutions, thanks to their exposure to advanced courses, strong publications, and hands-on skills.

Founded 1998
The International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore, a Deemed University, popularly known as IIITB, was established in 1998 with a vision to contribute to the IT world by focusing on education and research, entrepreneurship and innovation. The Institute is a registered not-for-profit society funded jointly by the Government of Karnataka and the IT industry.
